SUMMARY:Nature Journaling Meet-up at Weeks Bay Estuarine Reserve (South Alabama)
DESCRIPTION:Cancellation Note:\n\nHey everyone! Sign-ups are fewer than what we had hoped for tomorrow’s event. For this reason\, we have made the difficult decision to cancel it.\nWe understand that this may come as a disappointment\, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We have another exciting event coming up for South Alabama for the Fall which should be posted soon. Please look out for future communications regarding it within the Facebook group and over email.\nThank you for your understanding and support. If you have any questions or concerns\, feel free to reach out to us!\n\n————————-\n\nPelicans\, herons\, and the rare red-bellied turtle call this forested 6\,000-acre reserve home. Join us to draw along the shady self-guided nature trail or inside the visitors’ center (where you’ll find live animal exhibits plus a huge collection of specimens including eggs\, birds and native plants).\n\nNature journalers of all skill levels are welcome! The goal is not to create beautiful art\, but to see and understand the natural world more deeply by drawing or writing about it.\n\nThis is a free event. We’ll meet in front of the visitors’ center at 9am. ANJC volunteer Val Webb will provide a 15-minute demo and tips on drawing shorebirds. You are free to wander until 11:15\, when we’ll meet again to compare plants and animals we have seen.\n\nBring your favorite sketchbook or journal\,  and whatever drawing supplies you like.
